Hi all!
I'm thinking about getting skype on my pc, however I'm unsure what to do with it after I download the program. I'm also not sure what virsion to get that'll be compatible with my computer and jaws.
I have a new lap top with windows 7 operating system. I'm not sure what bid it is, how can I find that out? Also, I'm using Jaws 12.

All the versions of skipe should work, and you can get scripts for your jaws that will make it work even better. You can download it from skipe.com, then just run the program once its done. It installs just like any other program. Nothing to it.
also, it'll prompt you to create an account after you install it. Just follow the instructions. Like cody said, nothing to it.
wow. I actually didn't know you could get the scripts at skype.com. I always got it from Doug Lee's site. I got there just by googling Skype scripts for JAWS. It should come up with the latest version.
skype.com is not giving scripts for jaws, in my opinion. if you want the latest one, grab it from here.

Thanks all for your info! I really appreciate it! :) If I download the scripts for jaws after downloading skype, will it automatically work together or do I have to do something complacated? lol..
I know how to download and run programs that kinda stuff..but is there any particular virsion of skype I should download that would work better with my lap top? (again, I have windows 7 and jaws 12.)

You'll need to get the latest version of the scripts and run them like you would any other program. I don't think it matters whether you do it before or after installing Skype. As far as skype versions are concerned, anything 4.0 or later should work with the scripts, as far as I know, but I would recommend either 4.2 or 5. 4.2 is the version I'm using, and it's really stable. I'm not very familiar with the interface of Skype 5, but I'm sure others here are.
It matters. Install Skype first, then the scripts. I've written a board that explains it all. This question seems to come up offten. Raajy is correct about the place, or the other sight. I Blee's best, because you can update them easier. Complete instructions come with. Also you can get Skkype talking. It adds some functionally to Skype the Jaws scripts don't offer, kind of. I like running them both. Jaws 12 works them all, so get 5.3 the latest.
'Sorry, I did not mean to give the impression that you can get scripts for jaws from the skipe website, I should have phrased that differently. As for the version of skipe, I have the latest version, and it works fine, so I vote for getting that, I believe its skipe 5.4.
Yes the scripts are keeping up nicely, and sometimes are ahead of the releases, so the current version works great. Your suggestion was on Silver, it points you in the right direction.

Yeah...I was going to mention Skype Talking. Just Google it. It really helps. For me especially, as I don't have Jaws right now so can't run the scripts. I use Skype with System Access, and it works great. Happy Skyping! *smile*

I just want to say that before I ad someone, I'd like to know who they are first..so when you ad me just give me your username on the zone that way I'll have an idea of who you are.
Skype will offer you the choice and will tell you who you are adding. If you add some one you don't like you can remove them easy, so no sweat. Enjoy. Smile.

there is something else that i like alot that goes with skype and it's not really all that complicated. also done by the guy who does the skype scripts. it's called clisk. it can be a bit complicated, but it helps do some things in skype 5. better in my opinion like adding users who have requested you.
